BOOKS I READ IN THE 7TH GRADE:
I didn’t really read books in 7th grade, was too much into listening to music (especially hip-hop) and keeping busy by learning all the songs by heart. I guess I read song lyrics instead of books, especially the music of the group The Fugees, and this is also how I, without thinking about it, started learning English.
BACKGROUND:
I’m an international student from Sweden (with my roots in Croatia) studying at the University of Toronto this school year. I have several years long experience working at the library, and with kids. I fell in love with Hip-Hop… or rather, I learned to love Hip-Hop throughout my upbringing and I would like to some day do research on this vibrant youth culture. I guess I am just one example of just how far Hip-Hop culture once spread to all corners of the world and I find it amazing that there’s rap in pretty much all languages spoken in the world.
