BOOKS I READ IN THE 7TH GRADE:
Agatha Christie mysteries (taken only in context)--particularly "And Then There Were None", "Queen: The Story of an American Family," by Alex Haley, "The Color Purple," by Alice Walker, anything by Christopher Pike, Stephen King's "It." I also loved plays, and I first read one of my favourites around the 7th grade: "Dilemma of a Ghost," by Ama Ata Aidoo.

BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Christina recently received her Master of Arts from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education. Studying under academic/activists such as Drs. George J. Sefa Dei and Jasmin Zine in the Department of Sociology and Equity Studies in Education, she completed a thesis entitled, “Hip-Hop Cultural Identities: A Review of the Literature and its Implications for the Schooling of African-Canadian Youth.” She has past work and volunteer experience working with youth as a tutor, and in alternative educational settings such as at the after-school program at the Miles Nadal Jewish Community Centre.
